THE JOURNEY

Living the dream!

What started as a love for working with natural materials slowly grew into a much bigger dream: a place where those materials could be grown, gathered, made into something new, and shared with others. Over the past few years, I’ve taught basket weaving workshops, demonstrated traditional craft, sold my work, and continued learning about the long history of willow growing and basketry. As my practice grew, so did the idea behind The Thicket. I began imagining a small willow farm where I could grow my own basketry materials, alongside a welcoming space for workshops, gatherings, artists, and community events. In the July of 2026, only months after graduating from Mount Allison University, but over a year into building the business plan, that idea found a home when I purchased my dream barn here in Sackville. Since then, I’ve been slowly bringing the space back to life and building The Thicket one project at a time. There is still lots of work to do and so many exciting events to come. The long-term vision includes rows of basketry willow planted on the property, opening up the space to intimate weddings and events, regular basketry workshops, and so much more The Thicket is very much my passion project, and I can't wait to see what the future holds!

About Me

I grew up in Moncton New Brunswick, and after graduating from Moncton High in 2022, I attended Mount Allison for my bachelors in Fine Arts and Visial and Material Culture. I currently live in Moncton, but after finishing my four years at Mount A, I absolutely fell in love with Sackville. I am so excited to be putting down roots in Tantramar in the form of the barn!
